Melaka - World Heritage city 1

UNESCO World Heritage site, Malacca or Melaka

Malacca or Melaka in Malay is an UNESCO World Heritage site just a few hours away from Kuala Lumpur. It’s the capital of the state of Malacca on the westcoast of Peninsular Malaysia. Back in the days the city was a major port hub for all the different nations that have occupied Malaysia, hence the influence of different countries you find in the city itself. First there was the Chinese, then came the Portugese, afterwards the Dutch and finally the British. Gathering of ethnic groups in Kuala Lumpur

Come to think of it, I really didn’t stay that long in Kuala Lumpur. not that I have anything against it but, at this point in my trip, I was getting tired of all the traveling and the exhaustion of having to move from place to place was getting to me, therefore I think my enthusiasm for visiting new places has dropped significantly compared to the beginning of my trip. White beaches and great diving on Perhentian Islands

I must say I’ve grown more fond of beach destination, given that they have things to do other than just lying on the beach, such as snorking, surfing...

UNESCO world heritage town of Georgetown in Penang

After the mindless partying and the chill-out beach islands it was time for a change of scene in the highly religious country of Malaysia. I went to Malaysia as a kid before but I’ve only stopped by Kuala Lumpur for a week or so, so I don’t really think that really counts as a real trip. This time around I was opening up more to the culture and the people in Malaysia. It wasn’t until in Kuala Lumpur near the end of my trip that I actually realised what Malaysia was made of. There are so many different ethnic groups...

Hawker food paradise in Georgetown

If you love to eat and you’re not afraid to try hawker food then Georgetown must be on your list of places to visit in Asia. According to many people, Georgetown has arguably the best streetfood, but I’ll leave that up to you to discover it yourselves, but here’s a short collection of dishes I’ve tried out during my short stay in Georgetown. I’m not exactly a food critic or food expert, but if it already impresses me then I’m sure that real foodies will L-O-V-E it!
